Zachary Hunt in Police Cops The Musical (Workshop Presentation)

Actor, Writer

Zachary Hunt will be reprising his role as Jimmy Johnson in Police Cops the Musical which is returning for a strictly limited work-in-progress workshop presentation at Battersea Arts Centre this month…

USA, 1980. In an era of tight jeans, fast cars and uncompromising facial hair, a pair of mismatched police cops are on the case to bring down the baddest cat in America. Police Cops The Musical is all singing, all dancing, all guns blazing.

A total sell-out at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, with two riotous hit runs at Southwark Playhouse and two Off West End Theatre Awards (Best New Musical, Best Choreography) already under its belt, the show returns for a rare work-in-progress workshop – scripts in hand, new songs, new characters, and a first look at its next evolution before anyone else. The production is directed by Sean Foley (Dr Strangelove, The Ladykillers), with an original score by Brit Award-winning Ben Adams (Eugenius), musical supervision, orchestration and arrangement by Rich Morris, and choreography by Matt Cole. It is produced by ROYO with Glass Half Full Productions and James Seabright.

Zachary is one third of the multi award-winning comedy company Police Cops, alongside Nathan Parkinson and Tom Roe, with whom he co-writes the book and lyrics for the show. The trio have just returned from this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, where they performed Police Cops: The Original and Police Cops in Space to sell-out crowds at Assembly Roxy – the latest chapter in a Police Cops universe that’s been building since their days as classmates at East 15.
