Jilly Bond in Macbeth at OVO’s new venue The Barn

Actor

Jilly Bond will play Duncan in Macbeth, directed by Adam Nicholls, the inaugural production at OVO’s brand new venue The Barn.

Returning home from a bloody civil war, the victorious Macbeth meets three witches on the heath. Driven by their disturbing prophecies, he sets out on the path to murder. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are propelled towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness.

Shakespeare’s epic psychological thriller is a gripping account of one man’s determination to secure his destiny by whatever means necessary. Perennially engrossing, and conveyed in poetry of unsurpassed power, Macbeth is one of the greatest tragic dramas the world has ever known.

Whilst this is the first production in the new venue, this won’t be Jilly’s first outing with OVO, having played the lead role of Shylock in their gender-swapped production of The Merchant of Venice at the Roman Theatre in 2024.
