Tennick & Ramsay are made up of Bethany Tennick and Iona Ramsay, a Scottish writing duo who have been writing together for over five years.

Their previous works include musicals such as Thread (One Ren, 2022), Land (Guilded Balloon Patter Hoose, 2022), Welcome to Serene (New Wolsey Theatre, 2024) and Hysterica, (Developed with Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Capital Theatres, 2024).

They were recently commissioned to write a new Snappy Opera for Mahogany Opera and Dunedin Consort, The Neverbeast, which is being revived by Snappy Opera in 2026. In 2024, they were awarded the ‘New Music Theatre Writing Award’ by British Youth Music Theatre. As a duo, they aim to create politically engaged work that tells new and urgent stories.

Bethany and Iona also frequently write with and for children and young people. Iona is a member of the Senior Artistic Team of PACE Youth Theatre, while Bethany is co-Director of the Musical Theatre Academy at TDC Glasgow, and together they have facilitated workshops and auditions across many institutions, such as British Youth Music Theatre, New College Lanarkshire, and Mahogany Opera.
