Bethany (they/she) is an actor-musician and writer based in Paisley. After training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, they have gone on to create politically charged and vibrant theatre pieces.

Bethany wrote music and lyrics for LAND, which had a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2022. In 2023/4 they were chosen as a recipient of the New Music Theatre Writing Award, co-creating new musical Welcome to Serene with Iona Ramsay as Tennick & Ramsay. Other awards include Best Song for short film A Walk in the Park, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner after winning the 48 Hr Film Festival.

in 2026 Bethany is composing the music for Scotland’s first Snappy Opera (produced by Mahogany Opera with Dunedin Consort), and has written the music and lyrics for Stellar Quines’ new musical- Frankie Stein.

Other writing credits include; Babs (music) for a Play, a Pie, and a Pint, Thread (music and lyrics) for OneRen, Hysterica Workshop (music and lyrics) for Captivate Theatres and Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and Antigone (music) for Perth Theatre.

Bethany also has written book, music, and lyrics for Outskirts– a new comedy musical premiering at A Play, A Pie, and A Pint in 2026 before touring in Scotland.
