Cumbrian writer-director Stuart Armstrong has been shooting his upcoming project Leavers’ Day, following the success of his short film Meat Raffle last year.

Leavers’ Day is an LGBTQ+ coming-of-age short film set in the Lake District in 2003.

The cast is led by Frank Bertoletti, William Teasdale and Eireann Devlin, with Sunny Woodend and Reubyna Glanville and JBR’s own Cumbrian actor Conor Neaves.

Leavers’ Day follows Alex and his childhood sweetheart Dom as they reunite on the last day of sixth form and set out on a journey across the Lake District in search of a rumoured stash of hidden contraband. What begins as a reckless treasure hunt unfolds into a heartfelt exploration of growing up, unresolved tension and the complexities of young queer relationships…
