Ellie Pawsey joins The Archers as Esme Mulligan

Actor, Voice Actor

Ellie Pawsey makes her professional radio drama debut this month as Esme Mulligan in the BBC’s long-running radio soap The Archers.

The Archers is the world’s longest-running radio drama, first broadcast on the BBC in 1951. Set in the fictional village of Ambridge, it follows the lives of farming families and their neighbours in rural England. Now a fixture of BBC Radio 4, the series blends everyday storytelling with contemporary issues and has become a beloved part of British cultural life.

Obviously we can’t say much yet about Ellie’s involvement in the series yet or her character Esme’s part in the unfolding events in Ambridge – but you can listen yourself when her character Esme Mulligan makes her first appearance on October 15th!

New episodes are broadcast on BBC Radio 4 each weekday evening at 7pm (repeated the next day at 2pm), with an omnibus edition every Sunday morning at 10am. Episodes are also released in Podcast formt and are available to stream on BBC Sounds here:
