We’re delighted for Musical Director STAMATIS SERAPHIM, who has joined the latest company of NewsRevue at the Canal Café Theatre.

NewsRevue is a current affairs parody song and sketch show, and holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s longest-running live comedy show. It’s fast-moving mix of sketches and songs, taking in the week’s news at breakneck pace. Each week brand new topical material is added by the writers and cast so it’s like a new show every week!

A new cast and creative team take over every few weeks and the Musical Director plays live on stage throughout, linking sketches with songs, underscoring the topical comedy and arranging the music for the cast.

Stamatis is a Greek-South African composer, pianist, performer and Musical Director from the island of Corfu. They trained at The Musical Theatre Academy in London, and their work spans stage, screen and concert settings. They have worked extensively as a musical director for Aida. Credits include scoring A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Sean Turner, the original musical Level Up! and the play Green.
