LUCA SARACENI-GUNNER launches theatre company Throughline with their debut show Love Letters to Stalin at the Golden Goose Theatre.

The dark comedy follows Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov as he faces censorship, obsession, and an unexpected intervention from Stalin, blurring the line between political terror and surreal fantasy.

Throughline – founded by Luca and fellow drama school graduates – aims to champion overlooked international works and reimagine classics through fresh, inclusive perspectives. Their debut production marks the first UK staging of Love Letters to Stalin since 1998, presented in a brand-new translation.

Inspired by the words of Mikhail Bulgakov“An artist that is silent is not a true artist” – the play explores power, freedom, and the cost of being heard, as Bulgakov drifts into absurd fantasy while his wife fights to keep him grounded.

Running for 85 minutes at Golden Goose Theatre, the production returns from April 9-11th at 7:30pm, with tickets from £13.
