Izzie Winter as Toft in Moominvalley in November

REVIEWS

Izzie Winter captivates as Toft, stealing the show as the young observer whose longing for family forms the show’s emotional core. Winters’ performance is particularly striking, revealing both vulnerability and strength through a remarkable vocal range.”
★★★★ Broadway World

“The cast are unanimously terrific, but Izzie Winter’s vocals and Martin Callaghan’s… are the standouts”
★★★★ Mickey Jo Theatre

“Orphaned Toft… in the capable hands of Izzie Winter. Winter showcases a clear, expressive voice, the first and last we hear on Hoeglund’s score, and the sense of childlike wonderment and coming-of-age realisation that they bring to the role is continually powerful, culminating in a hopeful and exhilarating final number.”
★★★★ All That Dazzles

Izzie Winter’s characterisation of this perpetual child captures the nervous caution with which everything is approached when it is all so new… It is no mean feat for a young solo performer to so successfully close a show alone on stage.”

★★★★ Musical Theatre Review

“The singing is first class and I can’t remember a better musical theatre ensemble on a pub theatre stage… As Toft, Izzie Winter is all eyes and ‘looks to camera’ exhibiting the loneliness of a lost soul. They also have a wonderful singing voice.”
★★★★ London Pub Theatres

“The cast is incredibly vocally strong and full of variety, which gives this show a beating heart”
★★★★★ Adventures in Theatreland

“The stand-out song from the show was the final ‘I Can see Them’ sung by Toft, played by Izzie Winter. The power of Winter’s belting voice in this final track provided an impressive end”
★★★ The Live Review

“Toft, played by Izzie Winter with poignant innocence and determination”
★★★.5 The Reviews Hub

“Committed performances from the actors… They are all fine singers and good physical actors; and the pace of the production never lets up.”
★★★ The Spy in the Stalls

“There are some fantastic songs which involve the whole cast, all of whom have voices that you could imagine hearing in a West End musical, and Winter and Quinn have two standout solo numbers.”
★★★ Everything Theatre

“…subtly but unashamedly strange and whimsical. It deliberately eschews traditional narrative structure, instead focusing on mood and atmosphere. If you’re willing to engage with it with an open mind, you might find it to be beautiful and moving.”
★★★★ North West End
