Hannah Genesius as Elsa in Tiny Fragments of Beautiful Light

Actor

HANNAH GENESIUS reprises her role as Elsa for the UK tour of Tiny Fragments of Beautiful Light, following its acclaimed premiere at Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre in 2023. This heartfelt comedy-drama, written by Allison Davies, explores the under-represented female experience of autism through immersive storytelling and sharp humour.

The story follows Elsa, a quirky, kind, and resilient young woman navigating the challenges of adolescence, love, and self-discovery. Meeting Carmen unlocks a new chapter in Elsa’s life, where living authentically becomes a joyful act of rebellion against societal expectations. Rooted in Davies’s personal experience as an autistic woman, the production shines a much-needed spotlight on female neurodiversity.

Davies comments, “Tiny Fragments of Beautiful Light is a human story about an autistic woman who’s as strong and as flawed, as funny and as irritating as the next person. It’s close to my heart, and I hope audiences find it relatable and enjoy its party quirks.”

The show’s dynamic creative team brings this important and celebratory narrative to life, with Hannah delivering a standout performance as Elsa.

“Elsa has a guileless voice and Hannah Genesius plays her in quirky and winning ways”, Arifa Akbar, The Guardian ★★★★
