Heather Lai

Heather is managed by JBR 

 

Originally from Hong Kong, Heather is skilled in puppetry, clown, Chinese dance and Japanese Fan dance, Contact Improvisation, flute, and piano. She speaks Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.

Heather is drawn to making her own work and collaborating with companies whose interests complement her own. She writes, devises, and creates her own theatre. She has taken her own work to the Edinburgh Festival and received a transfer to Vault Festival.

In addition to being an actor, musician and puppeteer, Heather is also a skilled assistant director and a producer – she assistant produced the Olivier Award Nominee – Alice’s Adventure Underground in Shanghai.

Heather is also a graduate of the Curious School of Puppetry. She made her Royal Shakespeare Company debut with My Neighbour Totoro a show which she has recently returned to as a principal puppeteer. She has also recently worked with Glyndebourne as a puppeteer on Die Zauberflote and on the puppetry team for Paramount’s Knuckles.
