Becky Lumb in The Diary of a Provincial Lady

Actor

We’re delighted to share that Becky Lumb will star as the eponymous heroine in The Diary of a Provincial Lady, running at The Bridge House Theatre, Penge, from 4–15 November 2025.

Adapted and directed by Ellie Ward, the play brings to life the witty musings of a harassed heroine juggling motherhood, domestic chaos, social obligations, and literary ambitions in 1930s England. Often compared to Bridget Jones for its warmth and sharp humour, the story paints a hilariously honest portrait of a woman always on the brink of collapse – but never without charm!

This marks Becky’s second encounter with Delafield’s work this year, following her appearance in To See Ourselves at the White Bear Theatre. She also recently appeared at the Bridge House Theatre in Yellow Things, where she played Kim, Mia, Anna, and the Woman.
