We are so proud of Zara Naeem, who takes on the principal role of Ziba in Woman, Life, Freedom! at Stratford Park as part of Greenwich and Docklands International Festival.

Born into a pre-revolution Iran, encouraged by her grandmother, Ziba dreams of becoming a singer. These dreams are abruptly taken away with the turn of the regime and so begins her journey of resilience, survival and hope, in a broken country.

In Iran, the voices of women cannot be heard freely. Woman, Life,Freedom! is a moving and powerful piece of street theatre which places their music and their voices at the centre of the narrative; revealing the colour, warmth and vitality of Iranian culture, for which a courageous young generation are currently fighting.
