Stu McLoughlin as Launce in RSC’s Two Gentlemen of Verona

Actor, Musician

We’re thrilled to share that STUART MCLOUGHLIN has begun rehearsals for his next Shakespearean adventure – playing the role of Launce in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s joyful new family production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

This fast-paced, 80-minute adaptation bursts onto the stage at The Other Place, Stratford-upon-Avon, from 4–31 August 2025. Directed by Joanna Bowman, the production is full of love triangles, forest escapades, disguises… and yes, a dog – with Stu stepping into the wonderfully daft role of Launce, one of Shakespeare’s great comic creations.

Fresh from flexing his classical muscles as Antigonus/Autolycus in The Winter’s Tale at the Tobacco Factory last year, Stu now brings his flair for physical comedy, character work, and live music to this new actor-musician production – perfectly pitched as an introduction to Shakespeare for families.
