Nkara Stephenson in After the Act at Royal Court

Actor

In 1988, a law banned the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality in schools. Using music and verbatim accounts, After The Act tells the story of Section 28 and the teachers, pupils and activists who lived through it.

Originally co-produced by Brighton Dome and Festival, HOME, New Diorama and Warwick Arts Centre, After the Act opened in 2023 at the New Diorama Theatre. Following this, After the Act played an acclaimed UK tour in 2024 and now returns to London for a short run at the Royal Court.

Nkara joined the company for the tour and is thrilled to be returning to the cast for the Royal Court production.
