Mark Milligan as Star in My Pet Star at The Marlowe Theatre

Actor

We’re excited to announce that Mark Milligan is taking on a starring role in My Pet Star, a charming new production at The Marlowe Theatre. This heartwarming show, inspired by the beloved children’s book, brings Mark back to the stage with director Lily Dybl, with whom he previously collaborated on Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes for Waterperry Opera Festival & Opera Holland Park.

This has been an exciting year for Mark, who spent the summer touring with Hamlet in the role of Ophelia and others with The Lord Chamberlain’s Men. (Read more about his performance in Hamlet here.) Now, he’s stepping into a family-friendly production that brings the magic of storytelling to life for young audiences:

When a young girl finds a little star that has fallen from the sky, she decides to look after it, giving it the love, time and care that the star needs to get its sparkle back. The more they share with each other, the more the star begins to glow. But when the star has been nursed back to health, how easy will it be to let go?

With My Pet Star, Mark continues to showcase his versatility, moving from classical theatre to children’s stories with ease. We can’t wait to see him shine in this role, and look forward to the joy he’ll bring to audiences this festive season!
